Meaghan Mullally-Gorr:
I’m Meghan Mullally-Gorr, the director of health and wellness at Sullivan 180. We are so excited to invite you, to join us for our ‘Coach to 5k’ Virtual Walk/Run. When you register for our 5k, you will receive an eight week training guide. You can choose a coach, participate on your own, or sign up as a coach and lead your own team. Training will go from July 6th to August 29th, and Race Week will be August 30th to September 5th. If you’re unable to participate, please consider making a donation. All funds raised will go to S.A.L.T. ( Sullivan Agencies Leading Together) who have been providing food to families all across Sullivan County during COVID-19. Registration will remain open throughout race week, which is ending September 5th. So, it’s not too late to sign up! Visit www.Sullivan180.org to register. And now, meet some of our coaches!
Shannon Cilento:
Hey everyone, I’m Shannon Cilento. I’m representing Monticello and I’m coaching because I used to hate running, but I’ve really grown to enjoy it. And I really want to share that energy with my community and people who might not know where to begin with their running journey. So I’m really looking forward to getting people excited about running and achieving our goals.
Lori Cornshaw:
Hi, my name is Lori Cornshaw. I’m a coach. I’m going to be representing Briscoe, in Jeffersonville, and I’m excited to be able to help people and inspire people and get inspired myself. And we’re going to have a blast! I’m really looking forward to this!
Denise Patti:
Hi, Denise Patti, also known as The Boiler: the adult coordinator of ‘The Fun Group’, which is comprised of young people of Hispanic heritage who have been active in Sullivan 180 for the past two years, learning to live a healthy lifestyle. Although our membership is limited at this time to those who are involved in the group, you can learn more about us by checking out our Facebook page, the Fun Group at Sullivan 180.
Jair:
Hi, I’m Jair, the youth coordinator at the Fun Group, I look forward to letting the members know the time and place of the next hike, and I’ll use my Spanish to encourgae our parents to join us.
Saraid Gonzalez:
Hi, I’m Saraid Gonzalez. The program director at Sullivan 180, and I’m happy to be working alongside Denise and Jay, and supporting this physical activity as well as healthy living activities for our Latino community in Liberty.
Luisa Parker:
Hello. My name is Luisa Parker and I’m representing the town of Delaware, more specifically, Hortonville. I look forward to you joining me as part of the Delaware Devotees, and I hope that we can work together to accomplish our 5K Goals. Thank You!
Marlena Benjamin:
Hi everyone. Marlena Benjamin here. I will be coaching representing Rockville for Sullivan 180’s Coach to 5K Virtual Race. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and training along with you this summer. And I can’t wait to get started. See you all out on the course!
Modu:
Hi, my name is Modu. I am representing Monticello. I started running about three years ago, and since then, I took part in more than a dozen 5Ks and half marathons. I was inspired and encouraged by a friend to start running, and ever since I’ve been a runner. So I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to start running. You will never regret it. Thousand mile journey starts with a single step. So let’s go!
