SUNY SULLIVAN AND SULLIVAN 180 PRESENT A FREE ONLINE SUICIDE PREVENTION COURSE
First Session of QPR Suicide Prevention Training Will Be Held on January 18th
[Loch Sheldrake, NY] – SUNY Sullivan, in partnership with Sullivan 180, is proud to present a free online course in suicide prevention training for the community at large.
QPR Suicide Prevention Training will teach students how recognize the warning signs of suicide and employ the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) method. QPR is a practical and proven suicide prevention training. It teaches students how to discuss difficult topics with depressed individuals, offer hope, and provide resources to help struggling people get the help they need. In many ways, QPR is just like CPR — an invaluable and potentially life-saving emergency response aimed at those in crisis.
The first Suicide Prevention Training session will be held online via Zoom on January 18th, from 4-5:30 p.m., followed by repeat sessions on February 15th, March 15th, April 19th, and May 17th. The workshop will run for 60 minutes, followed by a 30 minute Q&A. To register, visit this link (bit.ly/QPRSuicidePreventionTrainingRegistration), and fill out the form.
