THE CURE OF THE PART SHOULD NOT BE ATTEMPTED
WITHOUT THE CURE OF THE WHOLE.

SULLIVAN 180 is a nonprofit organization created to turn around the health and wellness of Sullivan County, New York. It is a grassroots movement comprised of many but speaking with a single voice in favor of new policies, systems and programs to enhance the overall quality of life for all residents.

Nestled between the Delaware River and the New York City Watershed, Sullivan County is the gateway to the Catskills. Its fresh air and pristine waterways have long made it a destination for enjoying the healing qualities of nature. But for the past 6 years, according to the Robert Wood Johnson Health Rankings, Sullivan has placed 61st out of 62 counties in New York State. There is a clear need to offer our residents opportunities for improving their health and prosperity. This encompasses not only physical but also mental, spiritual and environmental wellness. A sense of purpose; connection to family and community; access to fresh food; and an active lifestyle are all essential for a thriving Sullivan County.

SULLIVAN 180 is committed to change by degrees, the kind of slow, steady and enduring transformation that is thoughtfully conceived and implemented. With an inclusive approach that unites the entire community—businesses, organizations and individuals in healthcare, education, agriculture, government, the arts and faith-based institutions—we work for alignment by building consensus and facilitating productive dialogue. In addition, we help consolidate efforts to leverage existing funding and deploy our expertise to access new resources.

HEALTH IS A STATE OF COMPLETE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING,
AND NOT MERELY THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE OR INFIRMITY.
