Empowering a Healthier Generation 2023-2025 School Grants

[Liberty, NY] Sullivan 180 is pleased to announce the first of the Healthier Generation School Grant recipients for the 2023-2025 grant cycle.  The Healthier Generation School Grant, in the amount of $4,000, supports initiatives that bring awareness and advance goals of the District’s Wellness Policy within a particular school building.

The following nine Sullivan County schools have been awarded grants.  Additional Healthier Generation Grant recipients will be announced over the coming weeks. 

Grantees include:

George Ross Mackenzie Elementary (Eldred): Outdoor Learning Space

Benjamin Cosor Elementary (Fallsburg): Gaga Ball Pit

Liberty Elementary (Liberty): Nutrition/Cafeteria Updates

Liberty Middle School (Liberty): Walking Classroom/Yoga

Liberty High School (Liberty): Outdoor Adventure Curriculum

Livingston Manor Elementary (Livingston Manor): Staff Mindfulness/Meditation

Robert J. Kaiser Middle School (Monticello): Spartan Club 2.0

Roscoe Central School (Roscoe): Stencils/Affirmation Signage

Sullivan West Elementary (Sullivan West): PE/Indoor Recess Expansion

 “This is our third school year offering Healthier Generation Grants to Sullivan County Public Schools and they continue to amaze us with their hard work and dedication to school health and wellness,” said Meaghan Mullally-Gorr, Director of Health & Wellness. “The school-based Healthier Generation Advisors and district-based Wellness Coordinators have gained a lot of traction in their schools and are making a real impact.”
