Sullivan 180 Empowering a Healthier Generation Grants

District Impact Grants awarded to Livingston Manor and Roscoe

[Liberty, NY] Sullivan 180 is pleased to announce the Healthier Generation District Impact Grant recipients for the 2023-2025 grant cycle.  The $20,000 Healthier Generation District Impact Grant supports specific goals of the District’s Wellness Policy to improve the health and wellness of the school community, district-wide or in a particular school building.

Livingston Manor Central School District was awarded a Healthier Generation District Impact Grant to purchase a Grab & Go Breakfast Cart, a water bottle filling station, and a refrigerated salad bar.  This nutrition-focused endeavor will help make healthy breakfasts more available to students on the go, increase water consumption, and expand healthy options in the cafeteria.

Roscoe Central School District was awarded a Healthier Generation District Impact Grant to install outdoor fitness stations along their walking trail. The outdoor physical activity initiative will boost the benefits of the trail to include additional forms of exercise that are safe and fun for both youth and adults.

“We are very happy with our first ever Healthier Generation District Impact Grant Awardees’ initiatives,” said Meaghan Mullally-Gorr, Director of Health and Wellness at Sullivan 180. “The addition of fitness stations to Roscoe’s walking trail will benefit the entire community and, we are thrilled to support Livingston Manor’s continued commitment to expanding their healthy breakfast and lunch programs.”

Additional Healthier Generation Grant recipients will be announced over the coming weeks.
