Become a Sullivan 180 Community Health Champion Trainer

Community Health Champion Trainers are integral to Sullivan 180’s prevention programming. They implement evidence-based programs designed to foster healthy lifestyles and reduce behaviors that contribute to poor health outcomes. Through free workshops and training sessions, Community Health Champion Trainers serve Sullivan County based organizations, communities, schools, and workplaces. These efforts support the Sullivan County Community Health Improvement Plan and are developed through a lens of health equity.

Community Health Champion Trainers are Sullivan 180 volunteers who have received specialized training and/or certification to teach evidence-based prevention programs. These programs include:

The Basics: Five evidence-based practices for promoting early childhood development–into routine family engagement efforts

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention: A program to recognize the signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond

Youth Mental Health First Aid: Provides adults with skills to use a 5-step action plan to help a youth who may be facing a mental health problem or crisis

CATCH My Breath Vaping Prevention: Education and awareness for youth, educators and parents on the dangers of e-cigarettes

Community Health Champion Trainers receive a stipend for providing workshops and trainings.
