Join us as we raise awareness about overdoses and reduce the stigma surrounding drug-related deaths.
About International Overdose Awareness Day
International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died from overdose, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
The campaign raises awareness of overdose, which is one of the world’s worst public health crises, and stimulates action and discussion about evidence-based overdose prevention and drug policy.
IOAD also acknowledges the profound grief felt by families and friends whose loved ones have died or suffered permanent injury from a drug overdose.
International Overdose Awareness Day in Sullivan County
Sullivan County holds the highest rate of overdose, per capita in New York State; and was also recently federally-designated as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). The opioid epidemic in our community impacts all of us. But we are facing this crisis.
Thank you for being part of the 3rd Annual International Overdose Awareness Day; an evening of hope and a time to honor those lost and support individuals and families who are struggling and in recovery.
