Sullivan 180 Interns at Work

Interns working at Circle Park

Demonstrating how youth are making a difference in their communities

[LIBERTY, NY] – The 2026 class of Sullivan 180 Interns have begun their work to care for gardens and other public spaces throughout Sullivan County. From small planters and established gardens to park enhancements and beautifying Main Streets, interns are working with volunteers to make a difference in their neighborhoods and communities.

“The Internship Program is a wonderful example of what happens when young people are invited to be part of building a healthier Sullivan County,” said Anne-Louise Scandariato, Director of Community Engagement at Sullivan 180“Interns are not only caring for public spaces, they are learning about their communities, connecting with volunteers and local leaders and developing the communication, problem-solving and leadership skills that will serve them well into the future.”

The Sullivan 180 Internship Program engages Sullivan County youth ages 16 to 20 in the movement to change and shape the future of their communities. Through the program, young people gain meaningful work experience while supporting Sullivan 180-funded projects and learning from adult volunteers who provide mentorship, guidance and encouragement.
