Sullivan 180 Invites Community to Celebrate at Bethel Woods

‍ ‍An evening of connection, community and a look toward what comes next

[LIBERTY, NY] Friends, neighbors and community partners from across Sullivan County will gather Wednesday, September 23, at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for A Celebration of Our Community, an evening recognizing the people and partnerships helping to make Sullivan County a healthier place to live, learn, work and play.

‍ ‍Hosted by Sullivan 180, the annual celebration will recognize the collective impact of volunteers and community organizations, schools, municipalities and local partners working to build healthier, more connected communities.

‍ ‍“At the heart of this work are people who care deeply about our community and choose to be part of making it stronger,” said Denise Frangipane, Sullivan 180 CEO. “This evening gives us an opportunity to come together, recognize that collective effort and look ahead to what is possible when we remain connected to one another and to the places we call home.”

‍ ‍The evening will feature award-winning journalist Julia Hotz, author of The Connection Cure and the second guest in the inaugural Sullivan 180 Speaker Series. Hotz’s work explores how movement, nature, creativity, service and belonging can influence health and well-being. She offers a national perspective that connects closely with the work happening throughout Sullivan County.

‍ ‍Hotz challenges audiences to shift the conversation from “What’s the matter with you?” to “What matters to you?” Her message will provide a backdrop for an evening centered on the role connection and belonging play in creating healthier people and stronger communities.

‍ ‍A Celebration of Our Community will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, 200 Hurd Road, Bethel, NY. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6:30 p.m.
