PARTNER INITIATIVE:

Sullivan County Farmers PPP & EIDL Grant Programs

Due to COVID-19, there has been a great need to bring funding into Sullivan County, particularly for farmers whose livelihood has been negatively impacted by the pandemic. Jenny Sanchez, Sullivan 180’s Grant Writer, met with many local farmers at Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County over the Summer to assist them in compiling documents and applying for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). The PPP provided funding to pay wages and the EIDL provided funds for equipment, inventory, and other needs related to COVID-19. Assistance was also provided to farmers for loan forgiveness and appealing a PPP or EIDL denial.

To date, $155,000 in total has been awarded to the farmers that we have worked with.
